Joe L. Green

U.S. Veteran

Joe L. Green, 76, went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 18, 2012.

He was born in Memphis TN on August 1, 1935 to David V. Green and Gary Lee Harvey.

He had been a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Zion, IL for many years. He was a high school graduate and had taken some college courses at CLC. Joe had been employed and retired from Chrysler (AMC) in Kenosha, WI. He had been a Steward and a Board member for the UAW, Local 72. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force.

Joe L. Green is survived by his wife, Cathleen of 38 yrs; 2 sons, Mark Green of Kenosha WI and Martin Green of Gurnee IL; 1 daughter Iris (Derrick) Livingston of Beach Park IL; 19 Grandchildren, Terrell, Fontaine, Ebony, Demitrius and Bashir Linder all from the Waukegan/North Chicago, IL area and Mario Green of N.Y., N.Y.; Kishna Green of Winnebago, WI, Myeshia and Dominique Green of Memphis TN, and 22 Great-Grandchildren; 1 niece, Diane Green, and a host of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, David V. Green, his mother, Gary Lee Green; 2 daughters, Michelle Linder and Monica Green, and 2 brothers, David and Bobby Green.

A Celebration of His Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 25, 2012 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2500 W. 30th Street, Zion, IL. Rev. Robert Williams, Pastor, Rev. B. J. Gaston, Officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park Cemetery, Zion, IL.
